Great Seal Of The United States As The Design. We Are Here To Help
Customize Your Ride. Creating a custom seat for a motorcycle is
something we truly enjoy making over the long hours it takes to craft an
object into a unique work of art. Our custom seats are built for a
chopper or custom build, so they can be directly bolted to the frame, or
be used with a solo seat kit. The seats are already built with bolts
welded in so its an easy setup.

Build Details:

• Deep dish, tear drop shape seat pan with mounting studs and covered in leather
• Seat Pan is made from 1/8" inch thick or 10 gauge steel
• 15" length x 11.5" width
• 4 oz leather on top, 8 oz. leather on bottom
Loud and abrasive rock n' roll is a pedigree of music from the Burgh. Six Speed Kill will be bringin' the heat on a brand new split 12" record with none other than Call Me Bronco and we couldn't be more stoked to finally unleash this beast, coming out in mid June. We shot two videos with Six Speed Kill at the Smiling Moose in Pittsburgh and Call Me Bronco has some upcoming videos ready to unleash in conjunction with their side of the split. Big thanks to our favorite Atlanta ink slinger for the great cover art on the Six Speed Kill side and to Bobby Bronco for his illustration on the Call Me Bronco side.

The bikes created by British manufacturer Vincent Motorcycles are some
of the most sought-after collector motorcycles in the world, and the
Black Lightning occupies the top rung of this hierarchy. Maybe it has
something to do with the fact that when it came out, it was the fastest
production motorcycle in the world, even beating out the fastest
production car of the day, the Jaguar XK120.

The bike had several owners, but it was in the possession of Australian
motorcycle shop proprietor and racer Jack Ehret for the longest
period—47 years. During that time, it smashed the Australian Land Speed
record, hitting an average of 141.5 mph, and participated in numerous
races. One of the most compelling things about the bike is that it is an
original, which is exceedingly rare because of the beating they usually
take on the track—a legacy that is still evidenced by the wear and tear
that is still visible on the bike.

Sean K. Preston & The Loaded Pistols are a nationally touring band from Baltimore, MD. Recently signed to Rusty Knuckles Music in 2018, their new album “Forgive” is due for release on November 16 2019. Currently, the group is touring the country to share their raucous honky tonk, dirty blues, roadhouse rock ‘n’ roll, and tear jerking country balladry.

The music of Sean K. Preston draws heavily on the influences of the classic heartbroken sounds of Country & Western music from the 40’s through the 70’s, the honesty of the Blues by the likes of Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker, the bombast of 50’s Rock’n’Roll, the lyrical sophistication of musical poets like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave, the raw energy of Punk, and the spirituality of Mountain Gospel. Sean K. Preston’s songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions.
Substantial size at 6 x 1 inch. Some smallish casting voids around the
bottom outside - cosmetic - see photos. The smallest hole does have
the remains of a bit, so would have to be drilled out if bits are to be
added. If no bits, then fine for display. Overall excellent plus collector condition. Buyer will be very pleased with this rare old drill index...

Not sure how most folks approach their days, but on this end of things, every day seems like a race to make something happen. It is not in the sense of rushing to get things done, but more along the lines of the sand running out of the hourglass. The drive to create new ideas and build items to help promote our work through better advertising and displays rattles my brain, day in and day out. Often I think it could be a curse or a disease as relaxing is just a far off notion, that I think will be achieved one day, but it won't. This is not a bad thing though. Hard work and determination pay off in many forms, but true relaxation is just not part of the equation, nor would I even understand how to do that. Hell, when at the beach, I have to swim until I am tired. When on a vacation, I have to go explore every nook and cranny of the location to be sure that I fully saw what was there. High five to all the workaholics out there, as we just have to keep that fire lit.

Let's talk turkey though about what it's like to be on the hunt for something. We all have our hunting grounds. Maybe yours is a soybean field for whitetail deer, a vintage swap meet for that one year motorcycle part which fits just right or maybe a wall or sitting train car for attacking with spray cans. Our favorite hunting grounds tend to be places that fit within our way to promote new products, albums, or builds for our show booth which keeps us at upwards of fifteen festivals per year. So guess what, second hand stores, flea markets and Habitat For Humanity are amazing spots to find unique items for builds.

Within our festival season, which runs from roughly late April to Early October, we push to be at about 10 to 15 varying festivals per year. That may sound like quite a few and it is. Biggest part to know and comprehend is that every festival is different and has a unique approach akin to the crowd in attendance. From our end, making things simple and easy, is always the best approach. Simply and easy, generally only comes at the end, when one of these products is completely finished, but hey, gotta have steadfast goals to get there.

One day while perusing my favorite hunting grounds, I ran across this old store display for $35. It had a good framework and structure and I knew that it could be made into something really unique. So I scooped it up and sat on the idea for about four months. Not sure exactly with what I wanted to do exactly, rough plans were draw up and then after a lot of sanding and prep work a new mobile store display was a in place. Yep, it was much more difficult than it sounds with fabricating and welding up a metal chassis on pneumatic tires, sanding and scuffing the entire piece. Cutting up new wooden planks to build shelving and then the multiple coats of ebony wood stain, more sanding, adding in hand painted lettering and then to finish it up, three coats of polyurethane.

Making items look simple and effective is damn hard, but ease of use and a clear approach for the customers is what matters the most. Weeks of deliberation on build ideas to final construction is all that matters in the end. Don't settle for what you don't want and believe in the bigger ideas to help fuel your approach. This is the only way to keep an unrelenting mind at ease.
Following the paths least traveled is always a mantra that we do our best to adhere against. Finding a unique spin on an idea or seeking out an idea that maybe goes against the grain just a bit more than something else is always where inspiration comes knocking. When creating all that exists within this whole "Rusty Knuckles" approach, it's easy to say "we" as there are folks who work within the music label and help out on varying projects, but day in and day out, it's primarily yours truly that is working up all the designs and getting things done to keep refining our approach. Many days are simply a labor of love and other days are just purely spent grinding through orders to get done to keep the lights on. Would I trade it for anything? Nope, not in the least. Do I get pissy about certain things when they just don't seem to work, but of course. But, first and foremost in our custom shop, failure is just one more step towards creating something that will stand the test of time.

In one of those long days of thinking about new concepts and ways to push our approach, a few coins were on the work desk and led to pulling out a guitar and trying to play a few good riffs. With no plastic pics readily available a quarter was put to the strings and inspiration struck. We know this is not a new concept by any means, but in our wheelhouse of custom music gear, these neat little picks are perfectly at home on our island of misfit toys.

Through some trial and error and burning many finger tips, to correctly grind and polish these beauties, we started to find a great rhythmic approach to making them in bulk and now will be offering them in the Rusty Knuckles Etsy Store.
As of late we have been primarily focusing much of our efforts towards Instagram for our posting and to connect with everyone. The only issue with that format is the lack of depth and overall, we have more to say and our projects tend to have many layers of content to them, which that service just lacks in promotions for and is forgotten within hours. It is officially time to get back to our blog news feed and create more updates for all of our work and the great bands we are able to work with. Hopefully the time away will help to reinvigorate our site and add some fresh content.

So lets start rolling out some new projects. Here is a recent custom leather motorcycle seat that shipped out to a client in Tennessee. They happened to run across an old seat we made as a portfolio piece that we keep for shows and to promote our work and asked if we could do it in light tones and primarily in black. Sure we can. After some long hours of tooling and stamping, one cool new seat is riding all around Tennessee now.

Creating a set of saddle bags from raw materials and building to fit a bike can be quite the challenge. For a good while now, ideas have been inked on a well thumbed page in the sketchbook as a project to get done. Luckily for us, the years of hard work and showcasing our capabilities allow for customers to spring up that want unique custom items.

One such customer out of Pennsylvania just so happened to want a set of narrow saddle bags that would fit their softail and to be in a deep cherry color to match their bike. I presented my sketches to them for a style of bag and we hatched a plan.

These bolt on saddle bags can easily be built to fit onto any bike, its just a matter of what mounting bracket that is intended to be used. We asked the customer to pick up a set of their choosing and would attach the support slot for the bracket accordingly. They chose to pick up these Saddlemen Brackets from J&P Cycle and shipped them over.

Being the fact that we also wanted a deep color to the bags with a unique look, we picked up some extra heavyweight ox blood leather in 10 oz. Then to achieve the color choice, opted to dye it some more after a light top scuffing and air brush the edges with a black fade. Another aspect that was key was a very tight fit and profile so match the bike. Nothing too bulky for hauling groceries, but a solid set of bags that could pack your leathers, some tools, oil and any other quick essentials you might need for the road.

Needless to say we are quite proud of these bags and working to produce a line of them now starting in deep black and full custom color options. We have one more round of prototypes to produce to work out any more bugs with brackets and hardware and will then be offering them as a new product in our online stores. Lots of options to also work in such as quick release mounting bolts and a locking option.
Making a custom seat is something that our small shop has grown to appreciate and enjoy. Much of our leather work focuses around music gear, but motorcycles have always been a true passion. Over the last year, more and more seat projects started to come through the door and we are now offering more expansive of an approach to handle custom needs. Our custom work focuses more on an illustrative style rather than a stylistic upholstery approach.
drummer who ever played with the legendary punk rock band the Ramones.
He joined the Ramones in 1983 and first appeared with the band on their
Subterranean Jungle tour.

Richie performed in over 500 shows
around the world with the Ramones and wrote several critically-acclaimed
and fan-favorite songs for the albums Animal Boy, Too Tough to Die and
Halfway to Sanity. Punk rock icon, Joey Ramone, remarked that “[Richie]
saved the band as far as I’m concerned. He’s the greatest thing to
happen to the Ramones. He put the spirit back in the band.”

Richie
is notable as the only Ramones drummer to sing lead vocals on Ramones
songs, "(You) Can’t Say Anything Nice” as well as the unreleased
“Elevator Operator.” Richie was also the only drummer to be the sole
composer of Ramones songs including their hit “Somebody Put Something in
My Drink” which remained a staple in the Ramones set list until their
last show in 1996 and continues to be covered by new generations of
bands worldwide. “Somebody Put Something in My Drink” was included on
“Ramones Mania,” the first Ramones album to go gold as well as “Loud,
Fast Ramones: Their Toughest Hits,” an album comprised of songs hand
picked by Johnny Ramone as the Ramones’ best works. Richie also wrote
"I'm Not Jesus," "Can't Say Anything Nice," "I Know Better Now,"
"Humankind" and "Smash You" which became the title track for one of the
Ramones' most successful re-releases, Smash You: Live '85. Richie's "I'm
Not Jesus" took the Ramones in a heavier direction and has become a
frequent cover tune for innumerable heavy metal bands. Richie’s
songwriting contributions were supported by Joey Ramone: “I encouraged
Richie to write songs . . . we never let anybody else write our songs.”

In
2007, Richie Ramone introduced his virtuosic drumming to the symphonic
world with his “Suite for Drums and Orchestra” based on Leonard
Bernstein's West Side Story. He debuted his arrangement with the
Pasadena Pops Orchestra as the featured drum soloist and was an
immediate hit with critics and patrons there and in other cities. He is
currently working on another innovative “Suite for Drums and Orchestra”
comprised of classic James Bond movie songs.

In 2011, the
Recording Academy gave the Ramones a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award
in Los Angeles, where all three of the band's drummers (Tommy, Marky and
Richie Ramone) stood beneath the same roof for the first time ever. In
2012, Richie was the only surviving Ramone featured on the second Joey
Ramone solo album, “Ya Know?” On October 8, 2013, Richie released his
first solo album, "Entitled," which features new songs written by Richie
as well as new recordings of songs he wrote for the Ramones. Billboard
notes, "Richie's 12 freshest cuts aim to please fans of both rock and
metal with its blend of power chord-chugging simplicity and guitar hero
virtuosity."

About The Video: Shot @ Red Bull Studios LA.
And in and around Highland Park CA.

Director Name: Brett Smith
Producer Name: brettidor inc.
