This past weekend, Leroy Virgil of Hellbound Glory played a private birthday party for Corey from the TV Show Pawn Stars. Now if they would only get one of his great songs as a theme for the tv show to help get his music further out to the masses. Hopefully soon ol' HBG will finally get over to the European shores where fans have been waiting to see them for quite a few years.

Why You Should Believe in Kid Rock's Plan to Lower Ticket Prices

Who doesn't want to see a big arena show and not go broke? For many years I have avoided the bigger shows unless we were given good passes. It could be quite hard to enjoy a show of this size due to the expensive food, drinks and paid parking at many venues. Personally, I don't like being gouged for overpriced beer or food when there is no need for it. Not to say that this type of event isn't worth the extra bucks, but few acts make an arena come to life except the Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden and Kid Rock. Some acts set up a big stage, but forget the biggest aspect is playing to the crowd as that is what they are they for. From the amount of shows we see regularly to the vast amount seen the in past, I want entertainment plain and simple. Vegas figured this scenario out years ago and can easily command large prices as the productions go above and beyond to keep the seats filled. Go check out the Beatles Love at the Mirage if you need any more convincing.

Kid Rock has taken it a step further and glad to see someone finally standing up and saying it's not just about money, but about an experience. Much respect to the entire Kid Rock camp for making the affordable ticket prices and concessions happen along with taking Hellbound Glory out again.

Kid Rock knows how to get fans to a show

"He's called himself a cowboy, an American badass, and a host of other names over the years, all in his mission to let us know his one unmistakable message: Kid Rock is an outlaw. He's done his best to cut a wide swath in the music world, making a splash during the rap-rock era of the late '90s and early Aughts with the likes of "Bawitdaba" and is responsible for a modern-day power ballad like "Only God Knows Why" and Lynyrd Skynyrd-riffing "All Summer Long."

Say what you will about his politics or the general flavor of his music and lyrics (God knows they aren't for everyone), but one thing is abundantly clear: Kid Rock is going to do whatever the hell he wants, whenever the hell he wants, and however the hell he wants.

Case in point? His current summer tour is a two-pronged effort aimed not only at doing his fans a favor, but giving places like Ticketmaster the middle finger.

To start with, tickets to Rock's concert will be $20, and considering he could easily charge a hell of a lot more than that, that's a deal. But there's more. Beer lovers will be able to get draft beer for only $4, there will be free coffee available, and food and merchandise will be discounted throughout the entire concert.

Considering how expensive concerts tend to be, this is quite the idea. And while a $4 "parking fee and venue services charge" will be attached to tickets purchased online, if you know where to look, then you still have a chance to cut Ticketmaster and other online ticket services out of the picture.

There are some who will argue that this is all a marketing ploy aimed at getting more butts in the seats because Rock doesn't think he can sell out venues, but nothing about his drawing ability looks different from usual.

He's going to be putting on the same high-energy, wildly over-the-top show he always does, and on top of this, he is bringing acts like ZZ Top, Kool and the Gang, and Uncle Kracker along for the ride.

Even in this economic climate, Rock wouldn't have much trouble selling out (or nearly selling out) an arena with this lineup, so it really comes down to just wanting to give the fans a good time they can actually afford.

The fact is, when he says no one on this tour expects fans to have to pay more just because they're putting on the biggest show they can, he probably means it. He probably also knows he could price-gouge the hell out of his fans, but he's choosing not to.

While this choice will naturally lead to more people coming to his show, you don't make more money by dropping prices this much, even if it brings more people to the show. All it does is perhaps make you some more fans and give people a chance to see if your tour's title -- "$20 Best Night Ever" -- is the real deal or not.

That's what amounts being a rock 'n' roll outlaw in this day and age. And whatever you think of his music, his tour should at least have you taking the title of Rock's most recent album, Rebel Soul, slightly more seriously."

Was really hoping to see a better showing of bikes out at Viva Las Vegas but not the case. Known primarily as a hot rod style event, there was every make and model of car and truck imaginable and damn were there some nice rides. Knowing that is a once a year deal I hope to see more bikes out at the show as we are planning on having a music showcase during the event highlighting our west coast bands. More details on that later in the year but definitely look for Green Lady Killers, Reno Divorce and a few other bands to be on the bill.

Fan dedication comes in many forms. It could be going out to shows, buying cds, buying a tshirt to support a band or just getting back to basics. Yep, you got it, sending over "naked" photos of yourself proclaiming who is your favorite band is also a dedicated and age old way to get folks to listen. Clint and the fellas in Flat Tires are enlisting legions of new members into their army, so ladies the sign up sheet will be at their merch table nightly. Get out to their shows and especially the one this weekend in Fayetteville to witness one hell of a party about to take shape for the Road To Recovery. Rory Kelly & Triple Threat, Octane Saints and Flat Tires will be playing the Black Cat as the launch party for two weeks on the road.

What you are seeing here is the recently finished Coupe that will be tearing up the roads all the way to Vegas in April. Yours truly will be riding shotgun and after the initial test ride the other day I can attest, its loud and damn if it ain't comfortable. With the chassis by Tim Bradham Chassis Works its a certifiable race car and ready for two thousand miles of abuse to Vegas and then another two thousand back. All this effort will be for the Task Force Dagger Foundation to help wounded combat soldiers to ultimately help raise money and awareness for the armed forces.
