Help To Save The Milestone In Charlotte, NC. One Of America's Longest Running Punk Rock Dives
Milestone Campaign from Matt K. Clum on Vimeo.
"Alright friends, here it is, the proverbial “Cat out of the bag”...
We need your help. The Milestone Club as we know and love it is in desperate need of a serious renovation and repair to the point that we won’t be able to operate as we are for much longer and that sounds awful and terrifying and pretty much like the worst news anyone could possibly have to share... So, for that, I’m sorry...
Head over to Go Fund Me to offer financial support
We also are currently faced with the opportunity for our team along with the help of some local friends to buy and own the property that the Milestone sits on along with the adjoining plots of land including our neighboring business “The Last Pitcher Show.”
The Catch: the investors interested in helping us buy the property are only on board if we can provide the means for the much needed repairs so that the entirety of the property is being used to benefit and feed into our community as it grows and changes over the next several years.

The Craft Of Sound, A Short Film About A Luthier Named Alex Bishop And His Attention To Detail
Learn more about Alex Bishop and his luthier work
"My passion as a guitar maker comes from a life-long obsession with making things. From a young age I have always tried to manipulate objects and materials in order to create something entirely different. I find that working with wood is a way for me to connect with nature. The simple act of shaping wood to make something functional or beautiful brings me endless satisfaction.
Having left a degree in Aerospace Engineering in Bath, I moved to London in 2007 to pursue the possibility of becoming a guitar maker. I studied for a BSc degreee in 'Musical Instruments' at London Metropolitan University, and I graduated in 2010 with a First Class Honours degree, the 'Top Thirty Student' award, and the 'University Recognition Award For Academic Excellence' award. Working for three years under the expert guidance of Nicholas Blishen, Norman Myall, Martin Bowers and Godefroy Maruejouls, I developed a flair for guitar making.
Lenny's Garage - Short Documentary On A Brooklyn, NY Car Collector
"Lenny Shiller is a lifelong Brooklyn resident and classic car collector. He has amassed a staggering 58 rare classic cars, while he also owns hundreds of vintage bikes, motorcycles, and memorabilia. Lenny spends his time restoring and maintaining his collection, with the intention one day to pass them on to the next generation. The walls of his 12,000 sq ft garage in Gowanus are stacked with car parts he has collected over the years, the space resembling part working garage, part museum."

Seeking True Character Depth? Look No Further Than Mark Mahnoey of Shamrock Tattoo
![]() |
| Deep thinker, tattoo artist and an overall man of action ready to play the next gangster kingpin in a film |
Understanding depth of character and meeting a truly unique individual can be a relatively daunting task. The more real, honest and genuine that character may be, the more they almost recede into the background as our media is full of those seeking any miniscule amount of quick fame or fortune. Then there are those individuals that live in a fantasy land and never quite achieve what they set out to do.
I am a huge fan of dark and troubled characters as they seem to take on the flaws of humanity as a whole. These individuals tread through troubled waters as if they don't know of any other area or locale to call home, yet live resolutely within that space. After listening to Mark Mahoney of Shamrock Tattoo in Los Angeles talk briefly about his shop and thoughts on life, it immediately turns into a quick study about a true character that has survived through the tattoo underbelly of a society that yearns for characters with real depth.

| Craftsman at Beretta gazing upon a piece of burled wood for the buttstock of a custom shotgun |
"Human Technology is an artistic short movie celebrating the uniqueness and the distinction of every Beretta premium gun. This movie by Ancarani Studio, under the creative direction of Paola Manfrin, reveals through the minutia of the manufacturing process, the genesis of a luxury Beretta shotgun. A poetic journey through sterile robotic rooms is blended with five centuries of Beretta’s history, culminating in the final assembly by the gunsmith, ever the wise guardian of the art of manufacturing."

Tyrolean's Off To These Orchestral Craftsmen

| Tyrolean's Off To These Orchestral Craftsmen |
Sound by definition, are the vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person's or animal's ear. What constitutes those sounds and to what we hear and discern from them are all based upon our own preference.
What makes one band better than another? What gives a guitar a certain warm tone? Many of these elements come into play with the materials that make up the instrument or the way an individual uses a certain skill set create the soundscape with the tool at hand.
Tyrolean's off to these orchestral craftsmen who use a simple and effective sheet metal tool box to create a cacophony of sound that is pure rhythm and absolute utilitarian. Next time you blame your gear for acting up, maybe you should just get back to the basics.

| The Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop Feature Video |
Film maker Brian Darwas currently produces feature length documentaries on Hot Rod and Motorcycle Culture. All of which have gone on to win awards, and have been well received. He's now changing things up a bit, making a handful short films that anyone can share freely.
"I feel it's important to our scene that high quality moving images, which can both awe and inspire, are available to anyone at anytime. My goal is to reach the younger generation. The generation of people who grew up on the Internet, and turn to it as a source of new ideas and inspiration. I'd like to instill in them the notion that hot rods, motorcycles, and building stuff by hand is still cool and relevant." ~ Brian Darwas

Without An Interesting Story, There Is No Film
![]() |
| New video from Skrillex produced by Ivan Herrera |
The magic of film making is absurdly simple. Without an interesting story, there is nothing to shoot. Context, texture, atmosphere, characters and quite a few more elements coming together with a great story, help us to define a moment in time. Having a favorite movie, actor or director is a way for us an individuals to connect to a larger storyline in which we can live out any idea we can place ourselves into. One aspect that brings great viewing satisfaction especially for music videos occurs when a filmmaker takes liberties and builds a narrative out of the context of a story. Shooting a short film scene for scene around lyrics makes a video feel shallow and rehearsed compared to breathing fresh air into an already present storyline.

| New drawing for the Go Devils - Pure Rock n' Roll |
Been working on a few new illustrations that can be cranked out in an hour, compared to the ones that take way too much effort in all the details. Add in a lightning bolt thru the skull along with some loose text and that equals one cup of coffee down and my Sharpie practice for the day.

"During the 1970's, Northern Ireland was seen as a musical wasteland. Bands struggled to get recognition and found it difficult to be heard because of geography and politics. There were few outlets for people to go to hear new music and socialise in a worry free environment. Terri Hooley changed all that.

you’re breathing - a video that masters your emotions and alters your
vitals. At that moment, when your heart jumps into your throat, and your
nerve endings fire, you realize you’re seeing something memorable.
