Let Bobber Pros Do Their Magic

We can see it now, you have a certain build idea in mind but maybe not the time. Oh yeah, we are too often traveling down the same damn road and wondering why we cannot carve out just another three hours of daylight to get everything done. So yes, we are still working on the 49 Chevy shop truck and the Buell street fighter builds and praying for more free time to devote to them.

The other day I happened to stumble across these folks called Bobber Pros on youtube and damn if they cannot make some cool videos on their bikes and parts sold on ebay. Seems like they have a cool niche on their builds and would dig seeing them in more detail up close.

1947 Harley Davidson Knucklehead Chopper

In the need of a new ride and got tax money that Uncle Sam sat on over the year and made interest with? Well, looky here hombre's. Found this on ebay this morning and the sale is about to end without the bike even hitting its reserve. Good luck bidding on this ride.

"This is a custom built single down tube rigid bike that was built to have that old boardtrack feel. Professionally built she has a ton of time put into making sure everything works as good as it looks.

1981 Shovel bottom end completely gone through. New Primo primary, clutch, belt, pulleys everything. Late Knucklehead top end with fresh pistons, valves, springs etc. endless hours went into making this combo work together, It's an ol school thing that hardly anyone does anymore. A freshened up Morris Mag with new wires makes it fire up first kick. Ratched Lid 4 Speed trans, also completely rebuilt. Crimescene oil tank with brass lines. Late shovel primary case with the starter bump filled and smoothed out.

Custom mid controls by Cycle Boys with Flyrite brakes and really really expensive De Luxe hand controls. Late HD spring shortened 3 inches slams it nice and low. 21 inch front and rear wheels with frsh Avon skins

There are too many details to list but I can say this bike has an amazing stance and runs amazing. It was featured in Feb/March issue of Street Chopper and gets a ton attention at the shop. Leave her bare or give it some shiney paint, either way you'll have a one of a kind badass bike."

1967 Triumph 650 Custom Bobber

Winter time is a great time to seek out new rides or to check on what other folks are building. Currently we are in parts collecting mode for two projects so nothing is getting done on our builds. In the interim, check out this 1967 Triumph 650 Custom Bobber for sale in Arizona.

"We are excited to offer up for auction this very nice, clean vintage Triumph with the rare 650 5 speed engine/tranny along with some very nice retro upgrades built in the old school style. Bike starts easily and runs great with a very strong engine.

As with other bikes we have built we are extremely meticulous with the build process. This Triumph was built from the bare frame up; we media blasted the frame and painted it with a base coat clear coat application. All parts of the bike were assembled with great care, as is evident when you look at the pictures. We realize the description of this bike is longer than most but we wanted to share as much as possible about this Triumph and all the professional work that went into this custom build.

Bike has a clean Arizona title in my name and it is titled as a 1967 Triumph T-120. The engine put into this build was a better breathing 1972 650 with a 5 speed, the only 650 engine with a 5 speed from the factory. The bike has the upgraded trans 5-speed high gear.

Frame Number:       T120RDU61748
Engine Number:      TR6RV-XG36520

Bike starts first kick as it has a healthy Joe Hunt Magneto freshened up with new points, condenser, cap, plug wires and boots. Bike has a lot of power and drives great as is evident in the video. As there is a freshly rebuilt engine in the bike it will need to be ridden easily at first to break in the new top end. The engine was built from the sludge trap up so no surprises. Below is a list of some of the new parts that went into this engine:

Rod bearings and bushings

A new bore job

Pistons at 0.20, pins, clips and rings

Valve job and valve guides

Exhaust flanges

New Black Diamond Valves

Bearings
 Gaskets, seals, etc.

Bike has a nice set of NEW Amal carbs, again these are new carbs not rebuilt!

Frame has a small 4 degree rake and a new factory metal work hardtail with a 6” stretch and a 2.5” drop, so it is long and low but still has an 18” rear wheel. The rear fender is a very nice old Wassell that we were able to bring back to life.

This bike is a blast to ride and a real head turner. Paint is Gloss Black Base Coat Clear Coat on the frame and it is Antique Cream White with a Candy Copper Stripe on the tank and fenders.

In addition to the new engine parts I am listing a number of the other new parts that went into the bike as well:

Dunlop tires and tubes – Gold Seal K-70s

Rear sprocket and chain

Monstercraft chain tensioner

A beautiful hand tooled leather seat

Hairpin Springs

Factory Metal Works Hardtail (6” stretch and 2.5” drop)

All new rubber – shift, kick, foot pegs, etc.

Amal Carbs

Fork seals, springs, gators and front wheel hub cap

Grips, kill switch, levers and all cables

A nice early type British headlight with light switch in headlight

Tank knee pads and Petcocks

Rocker box billet caps

Primary chain

All hoses

Miller tail light and billet plate holder

Also new are the 1.75” exhaust headers
All New Wiring run in a cloth type loom with new Podtronics Regulator"

Seeking Out A Small Block Chevy 350 Motor Reveals More In Eastern Carolina

Some days when you are on a mission to find a certain part of piece that you need for a build, too much hops in your path and you just have to scratch your head and consistently think on, why those items didn't cross your path before. Par exampla, rolled over to the coast today to link up with Mopar Rob to go and check out a lead on a 350 Small Block Chevy Motor and while waiting for our contact to show up at his shop we found all kinds of randomness. A 1950 Chevy 3100 truck that was being sold for 20k. Could easily see close to 10k but the rust spots and melted parts of dash were not a good sign. Then we happen to roll by a late 50's Chevy 4 x 4 longbed truck which was perfect for a shop truck, gotta check back in on that one. Also cruised by a shop called Combat Cycles which had quite a few builds out front but some just seemed to be a parts depot, compared to really though out for a killer ride.

Patina'd out custom bobber with way too much motor and transmission for the frame
Patina'd out custom bobber with 6 speed Baker Trans and S&S 110" motor
Looks to be a custom bolt on hardtail section for a Triumph wtih a girder front end, fugly for sure.
