New documentary chronicles teen metal sensation "Unlocking The Truth"

Breaking A Monster is a music documentary that follows the rise of African American teen heavy metal sensation Unlocking The Truth. Watch as filmmaker Luke Meyer catches the band's fascinating coming-of-age story as they go from playing a combination of heavy metal and speed punk in Times Square to entering a $1.7 million record deal. Check out the new theatrical trailer for the movie below!
Starting in New York on June 24 and continuing in Los Angeles on July 1, the documentary will hit theaters nationwide this summer.

Breaking A Monster begins when the members of Unlocking The Truth, vocalist/guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse, bassist Alec Atkins and drummer Jarad Dawkins, were in just 7th grade and chronicles their leap from weekend street performers to professional musicians, mirrored by their rapid transformation from childhood to adulthood. Also an interesting behind the scenes look at the music industry, the documentary has been immensely successful at festivals such as SXSW and Hot Docs.
Unlocking The Truth's debut album, Chaos, drops June 17.
