Nothing feels quite like making something by hand. The warm feel of tool hardened steel, the sheen and smell of freshly crafted leather and a sense of purpose keep the fires lit. Stay tuned on a write up and video we are editing to showcase just how these railroad spike knives were created, as they are part of a promotion for JB Beverley's new album, Stripped To The Root.

Over the last few years I have really been interested in learning more on the science and craftsmanship behind forged steel and blacksmithing. Our logo of the wrench knife was created by a local blacksmith as a gift and that set the ball in motion to learn more about this ancient craft. One area that I have been particularly paying attention to is custom swords and knives as the amount of craftsmanship to create such a type of blade can be done in many stages, such as with a Japanese sword or a bit quicker of a process with railroad spike knives.

Real Men's Magazines - Go Out And Build Character

Current men's magazines are all about looking good, wearing sharp clothing and being clean as a whistle and that just lacks character in our minds. Whatever happened to men that wrestled bears over their recently shot elk as the bear tried to get a free dinner? Or what happened to those adventures in which you came back with a beard as you were gone so long? We are huge fans of old magazines and pulp novels and often reread the stories as they are right out of a Mickey Spillane universe in which women were Dames and a finger point to the chest meant fists would come into action if need be. This compared to worrying about the other party calling in a lawyer to settle a dispute, as we personally have seen happen a few times unfortunately with wussies that want to sue over a few scratches and busted egos.
