Should Lane Splitting Be Legal Everywhere?!

No matter which way you shake it, lane splitting tends to bother folks in cars. This could be due to all the distractions of cell phones, radios, automatic transmissions and potentially biggest of all, not having ever ridden a motorcycle. Luckily most other countries around the world and one state in the US, California, allow for lane splitting to be done in a legal and safe maner.

After spending quite a few years in California and having to deal with mass amounts of traffic, lane splitting was an absolute necessity and made motorcycle traffic flow with ease. When on two wheels you have to drive offensively, not defensively and riding the paint, creates a safety buffer for motorcycles to be seen. The video below is quite informative and it would be great to see other states take the initiative in allowing for motorcycles to have more safe areas to traverse traffic.

Ideas First - Safety Last, Creating A Custom Shop Sign

On any given sunday, we took the time to recharge the batteries and came up with something motivational for the shop. The decision was made that we needed to do some hand lettering, paint work and keep it under a couple of hours in actual time spent. With a huge project looming on the horizon that will require quite a bit of paint and massive scale for hand lettering, this was the perfect warm up project.

Piece of plywood to prep for painting
Measuring text to scale to draw in
Sketching in text after measuring size
Adding in red background with some latex paint
Basic idea is starting to come through
Laying down the white lettering
Black ink put down around white lettering
Bottom white lettering painted down
All lettering in white put down
Final sign completed and ready to hang on the wall to promote shop safety

Idiots At The Workplace

We have all worked with idiots and see them daily. As soon as I see morons playing their chosen roles I feel as if Steve Irwin is speaking out to me and sayin' "crikey, look its one of the morons in his natural habitat, let's get a closer look." So of course I have to see it through and watch stupidity that only reality can present best. Have a look at some of these morons on the job site that we found over on buzzfeed. Please, anyone would dig seeing our beloved state road crews doing dumb shit, got a photo of 15 guys staring at one pothole and all with shovels, yet doing nothing?

Ride Safe This Weekend

If you are out ridin' this weekend, roll safe and keep those wheels rubber side down.
