The Cristal Baschet was built in 1952, by Bernard and François Baschet from France.
It is playing by rubbing glass rods with wet fingers, working like
bows. The vibration of the glass is passing on to tuned blocks of
Duralumin wich make the notes, then amplified by fiber and metallic
cones.
Bernard Baschet died recently at 97 years old.
