Creating Manual Camera Functions Overtly Done From A Steampunk Point Of View

Not just your average camera created within a steampunk state of mind

Found this steampunk style camera on a Russian language site and here is the translation:

"As planned in the flash unit is operated by means of two valves located on it. Chemicals are served in a glass flask in any reaction occurs and the photographer gets a bright light. The light can be extinguished by closing both valves. In fact it is a source of constant light with relatively small resources.

The machine has a removable holder for filters or lenses for macro photography. On top of the viewfinder are two: the main-center and an additional through which you can view on the subject matter through the filter. If you turn the filter holder on the axis, he stands just opposite the additional view finder.

The Hennepin Crawler, Built By Krank Boom Clank

The Hennepin Crawler, Built By Krank Boom Clank

Certain builds that we run across forever intrigue us. I guess you could say that we have a soft spot for all that is Steampunk and the artists in this genre such as Ron Pippin. To me the builds in this design motif employ quite a few things pleasing to the eye in the form of brass, copper, leather and a Victorian era design scheme. These varying materials always seem to go together well as they age in a similar manner and start to feel worn in and create a unique patina.

Could Steam Be Another Fuel Source For A Motorcycle?

Could a steam engine motorcycle actually work?

All great ideas have to start somewhere. It could be loose association and just let the pencil or pen start to magically scribble away. Or maybe it is a series of strung together thoughts that is pure mental challenge versus a machine designed to drive thousands upon thousands of miles.

Give it up for design student Colby Higgins for working through ideas that aren't conventional in the least and maybe, just maybe could actually be built. Either way, this back yard fabricator is diggin' this unconventional motor idea.

Did The AMD Bike Build Winner, Get Styling Cues From Shinya?

Did the AMD 2012 Motorcycle build winner, get styling cues from Shinya Kimura? After looking at various photos I can see a lot of similar vibes. Not that it is bad to emulate such a standout bike, but Shinya's bike is the Samurai warrior compared to Thunderbike of Germany's Steampunk. Each has amazing lines and a distinct personality but the grit and assymetrical lines of Shinya's ups the ante beyond another build. The Spike is pure soul.
