Ouija Planchette Belt Buckle From Rusty Knuckles

Ouija Planchette Belt Buckle From Rusty Knuckles
Working up new ideas for belt buckles is always on our work bench. Whether it be custom orders for folks world wide or new ideas that are being sketched out, we are here to continually revamp our approach to unique designs. This new spirit reader belt buckle can be ordered without a buckle back to be used on your Ouija board or can be made into a belt buckle. Head over to our Etsy store and have a look or send us an email about customizing them further with varying designs. We can't change the buckle template, but the top surface is open to interpretation.

Whiskeydick Announces New Belt Buckle For Sale, The Texas Skull Buckle

Whiskeydick Announces New Belt Buckle For Sale, The Texas Skull Buckle
Order this buckle

We love belt buckles, lets just say it out loud. Each one of our belt buckles starts from a blank sheet of aluminum in 0.188" plate and is then water jet cut to our exact specifications. Once we get the blanks back into our shop, the process of etching the designs into the metal takes place and we craft each buckle one at a time. The process is tedious and time consuming, but creating an indelible mark on a piece of metal is an absolute triumph and makes us quite proud.

Custom Belt Buckles Rolling Out From Rusty Knuckles

Rusty Knuckles custom belt buckle shapes ready for new designs

Cranking out new custom merchandise from week to week can be quite tough. It might be a line of guitar straps one week and next it could be merch associated with a brand new album about to launch as part our music label. Either way, we are neck deep here in the shop in a wide variety of projects. Keeping that diversity is what we enjoy the most and one in which keeps us constantly busy.

Brand New Custom Belt Buckles From Rusty Knuckles

Custom belt buckle for the Koffin Kats
Creating brand new art for belt buckles is something that we enjoy to the utmost. When it comes to etching belt buckles, the bolder the art the better the etch. Creating a really fine etch can be tricky and much harder to produce in a large quantity. Have a look through some of our newest projects.

Whiskeydick - The Bastard Sons Of Texas, Album Pre-order!

Whiskeydick - The Bastard Sons Of Texas, Album Pre-order!
At the lonesome crossroads where country and metal intersect, stand two swaggering badasses holding acoustic guitars. They're not interested in your soul they have plenty of soul already. Cult favorites WhiskeyDick blow minds with a double barrel blast of dreadnaught shredding and hillbilly bellowing that makes you want to knock back a shot, stand up tall, and holler "Oh-hell-yeehaw!"

The Fort Worth duo carry on the Texas traditions of super-powered guitar slinging and clever songwriting that make lone star music a worldwide curiosity, except Reverend Johnson will remind you more of Dimebag Darrell than Billy Gibbons and Fritz remains more lyrically akin to David Allen Coe than Robert Earl Keen.

Be sure to click some of the images below for our exclusive package deals for this album release on July 28th! The Bastard Sons Of Texas belt buckle is a limited edition and only available with the album pre-order.

New Custom Belt Buckles From Rusty Knuckles

Shovelhead belt buckle design from Rusty Knuckles

Creating new items is just something we wake up pondering over. It could be a new tshirt design, album cover, a belt buckle or maybe a new style of motorcycle bag. Whatever it may be, we labor for hours thinking everything through and thinking on what might be a great new product.

How To Create A Unique And Custom Belt Buckle

How To Create A Unique And Custom Belt Buckle
Making anything from scratch requires a lot of preparation and an immense amount of research. A good while back, we got the itch to start creating our own line of belt buckles. After purchasing a really cool heavyweight bronze buckle from a street vendor in Seattle, I was looking at the design and kept thinking I can do this. That simple notion, sent me on a vast research quest reading upon lost wax casting, sand casting, metal etching and also machining metals in a variety of ways.

Creating Golf Club Belt Buckles From The Recycle Bin

Spalding Executive 8 Iron Golf Club Belt Buckle, made by Rusty Knuckles
Coming up with new ideas on a consistent basis can be tough. One thing that we do consistently though to recharge the batteries is to just wander around at vintage stores, antique markets and online. In doing so, we find ourselves checking out items that were created in the not so distant past and were meant to have a shelf life a bit longer, maybe than the intended user.

We stumbled across a huge stash of old golf clubs recently and being the non golfers that we are, didn't know quite what to make of them. After examining the clubs though, the ol' brain kicked into high gear and thought, hmmmm... what if. Next thing ya know, the grinder is out, the sanding machine is turned on and new life is brought to something old and discarded.

Aluminum Belt Buckles With Soda Etched Designs From Rusty Knuckles

Aluminum Belt Buckles With Soda Etched Designs From Rusty Knuckles
Making custom belt buckles has been on our radar for a few years now. The one thing that we didn't want to do though is to have to farm out the production and in the process have to order a huge amount of minimums with large manufacturers. The costs and effort just didn't feel right in our DIY mindset, so of course we had to learn how to build our own.

Our first round of blanks were just cut out and the designs are finished, now to transfer the designs and start cleaning up all of our blanks for the proper heat transfer. Once we have our first models ready to release, we will have them for sale on our main store page and etsy store front. Damn stoked to say the least.

Rusty Knuckles Custom Belt Buckles From Soda Etching

Transferring the art for the buckles onto the aluminum plate
Hardly a day goes by when we aren't trying to up the ante on our craftsmanship and products offered. Have a look at a new product in the development phase, with our soda etched aluminum belt buckles. We have been wanting a quality belt buckle for quite a long time and didn't want to spend a certain amount on minimum orders from large manufacturers so we opted to read up on the process via many online resources such as this one on Instructables or this one for a guitar pedal

Our initial etchings are a bit rough as we are testing papers and dialing in our production process. The next steps will be to then finish out the existing designs with a perfect etch, TIG weld on the back the pieces needed to attach to a belt and then polish to perfection and be ready to ship. We will be offering up quite a few of these for the bands we work with in limited runs and then to also have batches of one off designs created in limited editions.

Once our aluminum buckles are perfected we have also been building our new kiln to start pouring molten bronze buckles through sand casting. If any of this were easy and a few quick steps we would have all of this done quickly, but of course quality takes time and that's the best way to operate.

Belt Buckle Blade

Knives have a life of their own and everybody who carries a blade has a certain use or style that they carry which is generally indicative of their personality. I always have a 3 inch police tactical knife in my pocket. Its lightweight, black and perfect. Flick of my thumb and its out and its very stealth with its outer rubber grip and locking action.

I guess I could blame my grandmother for my knife collection. She gave me my first victorinox swiss army knife when I was 9, and I was hooked. It was multi-function and I think had either 7 or 9 gadgets to it. Perfect for a kid who believed his life's calling was to be Indiana Jones mixed with the bravado of a biker. Still living the dream, thanks Chief for introducing me to the world on 2 wheels.
