Roger Alan Wade sings a great line in one of his songs in which he says that "If your gonna be dumb, ya gotta be tough." This mantra can also be related to any of us that to choose to live on the fringes and on our own terms. I always saw this in any tattoo artist that I have met. They live from one drawing to the next and tend to be quite the free spirits. Their marks are permanent and each design is reflective of their skill set as the wearer of the ink will most likely have it forever, unless they go through the even more painful process of tattoo removal. Moonrunners 2014 Music Festival Lineup Announced

"Why, yes, we are only three months out of our inaugural festival, but, if you recall, the end of July 2012 was the exact time we announced the lineup for the 2013 Festivities. We prefer to announce it early as possible, for the fact that many of the fans will be traveling from out of state, and will need to make flight and hotel reservations. Plus, we are a bit excited!

Because the first Festival was so amazing and well attended, we here at MoonRunners decided to expand the festival to two days in 2014.

It will once again take place at the VERY intimate and great venue, Reggie's in Chicago, IL. We recieved a few offers from larger venues in the area, but the hospitality and kindness that Reggie's showed us this year made it an obvious choice for 2014. Everything went so well. Every member on the Reggie's staff was top notch and made sure that everyone had a great experience.

MoonRunners Music Festival II will take place over two nights, on April 25th and 26th, 2014. Tickets will be $80 for a two day pass. That is a steal if you know the size of the venue, and take into consideration this years lineup. We will have hotel options once again, and tickets will go on sale on November 1st through Ticketfly.com.

Again, 2014 will sell out QUICK! This year, many folks were left out and traveled many miles in hopes of getting a ticket outside the door. It did not work! Get your tickets ASAP. So, with no further delay.... Here is the INITIAL lineup for MoonRunners Music Festival 2014.... One more headliner will be announced before tickets go on sale!

Wheelin' Towards Willie Tour Part 1 - Chattanooga, TN

Yesterday we embarked upon the Wheelin' Towards Willie Tour. The entire goal was to set up key interviews that we need to help capture who is Billy Don Burns as an artist and individual, on the new documentary film in production. Billy Don is a prolific songwriter and a stand up dude, that has been working for four decades now. People love his music far and wide, yet on a larger scale he is still relatively unknown. 

Throughout tour stops we will be speaking with a variety of folks, such as today with Roger Alan Wade. JB Beverley and Jake Cox are doing nightly gigs to cover gas and travel costs, so come on out to shows and link up with us. Some of the highlights include hanging with the Mayor of Chattanooga, Husky Burnette, interviewing and meeting Roger Alan Wade, along with a 3 am ghost tour or drunken waltz through the Hales Bar Dam that is featured in numerous ghost hunting shows.

Hellbound Glory & Lone Wolf LIVE!

Just announced, this Sunday night (3-27), Hellbound Glory will be broadcasting their performance at Will’s Pub in Orlando, FL on SCM LIVE! Tune in at 9 PM Eastern, 8 Central for opening act Lone Wolf OMB, who just released his debut album a few weeks ago.

I just had the fortune of seeing Hellbound Glory less than a week ago at South by Southwest. It’s a rarity to get such a great mix of top notch songwriting, with an energetic and fun live show. Leroy Virgil’s soul is like a fount of country music. He’s one of those rare birds where songs just burst out of him so quickly and so fluidly, a concerned observer might worry some or many of them would be lost down the drain. Hank Williams was like that. Many other professional songwriters like Roger Alan Wade are like that.

And usually those types live with their demons right up at the surface, and having spent a good amount of time around Leroy during SXSW, I can say he has that disposition as well. That’s how you know his songs are genuine. There is a fire in his eye, and a perennial sideways grin that hints of the no-good running through his brain. However with a kid to his name now, Leroy seemed to know his limitations and boundaries. He may be up until 5 AM, but it will be drinking beer and swapping licks on the guitar, not snorting coke and taking a ride in a police car.

Leroy told me right now he has two full albums of material to record with Hellbound Glory, and two more albums with a new project he’s put together called “The eXcavators”. He debuted a few new songs during the Rusty Knuckles Showcase at SXSW, and I had my camera ready to capture a couple of them, and one of their older, signature songs.
