Flat Top Frames With Style For Miles

It's quite enjoyable to see so many bike styles ebb and flow in and out of popularity. The arguments over what is cool and what is the best motor are just par for course. At the end of the day what we care most about is ridability. We couldn't give a rat's ass on whether or not something is period correct or having just the right underground builder signature part and being able to talk on it in the right circles. That is just damn boring, pointless and the shitty effect of the hipsters, that invaded motorcycle culture.

We are all over the maps with the bikes we enjoy riding whether it be dirt bikes, to our long mile marathoner in our Dyna or a race bike, two wheels up is our driving force. A particular bike design that has been really catching on though, is the flat top frame style of the Cafe Racer movement. The frame geometry is helping to morph a style of design and ergonomic riding position that is aimed directly at the rider and experiencing the road. It could be for the highway or the back country twists and turns, but no doubt about it, these bikes are meant to be ridden and yet highly customized.

Classified Moto Creates Amazing Lamps From Motorcycle Parts

Recycled goods, found objects and using what is readily available is a mantra we live by. It's not that we don't value new items but we dig finding new and creative ways to save moohlah and making something old new again. The fine folks over at Classified Moto up in Richmond, VA have taken it a step further and are creating cool lamps out of motorcycle parts left for the scrap yard. We dig the industrial and utilitarian look and knowing they come from folks cut from a similar cloth. Great choice in music by the way, we dig Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's sound.

Motorcycle Shock Lamps

Really stoked to see ideas put to use that are damn near perfect in design and are part of our motor head mindset. These really cool lamps from ClassifiedMoto.com would look bitchin' on our 70's style metal desk and be just the right amount of light needed. They have some great ideas cookin' over on their set so give it a look. Here is a description about the lamps:

"Retired components from up to three different vintage motorcycles make up these handsome, sturdy creations. The lamps are constructed using a spring, shock absorber, brake rotor and transmission gear — all welded together to add a bit of quirky moto flair to any room.

They average around 18 inches tall with a base measuring between 11 and 12 inches across.

Each lamp is handmade using available parts, so yours will differ somewhat from the photo. Scratches, dings and other imperfections are present on all the lamps due to the nature of recycled components. I love the story they tell, but I'm happy to answer questions before you order and snap pics before shipping to make sure you love it."
